Police Seek Identity of Alleged Burglar

Suspect caught on video camera.Police on St. Croix are asking the community’s assistance to identify a person wanted for several burglaries at businesses on Frederiksted’s north shore. The burglar was caught on surveillance video inside one of the businesses. The photo is that of a light complexioned young male, as indicated by a Police Department press release issued Thursday.

At least two businesses including Coconuts on the Beach and Rhythms at Rainbow Beach were burglarized in April. The photo of the unidentified burglar was taken inside one establishment.

The Police Department reminds the public that anyone harboring or assisting this suspect to evade police can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The department also commends businesses that take an active part in their own protection by installing cameras and video equipment.

All businesses are recommended to maintain working video surveillance equipment in and around their businesses. This practice has been proven to deter and reduce crime.

Police are urging anyone who recognizes the person in the photo to call the police at 712-6077 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 800-222-8477.
