Two Arrested for 2011 Gun Charges

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on St. Croix arrested Andy J. Peters and Paul F. Gerard last weekend on gun possession charges stemming from a shooting that occurred in October 2011.

Police responded to a shooting incident in Estate Catherine’s Rest on Oct. 22, which resulted in two people being shot, 36-year-old Peters and 24-year-old Gerard. Detectives said evidence linked both men to a .40 caliber weapon and a loaded magazine that was found on the crime scene.

The suspects were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm/principal, failure to report firearms obtained outside or brought into the Virgin Islands.

Peters was arrested at about 6 p.m. Friday at his home in Estate Concordia. Gerard was arrested at about 2 p.m. Saturday at the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility where he is being held on prior charges.

Bail for both suspects was set at $75,000 each. They were both remanded to the custody of Golden Grove pending further court action.
