Police Investigate Robbery of Woman at Gunpoint

A 46-year-old female told police she was robbed at gunpoint Monday afternoon in Estate Humbug.

The victim said a thin man robbed her of an undisclosed amount of cash. Police on St. Croix are investigating.

According to police, the victim said she was exiting her car in the residential area of Estate Humbug when an unknown male approached her from behind and stuck a black gun to her waist, demanding her purse.

The victim, who was not injured during the hold-up, told the man she didn’t have a purse, and then he reached inside the car, took a black leather bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled the area on foot, police said.

The victim described the suspect as slim built, around 5-feet-7-inches tall and about 106 pounds. The suspect was wearing a white polo shirt and long khaki pants, she said.
