Escojidos Cooks the Goose, 13-4, in Wednesday Softball

In the lone bush league game played Wednesday, the Escojidos crushed Grey Goose, 13-4, behind a strong pitching effort from Ercido Bon at the D.C. Canegata ballpark.

Bon kept the powerful Grey Goose lineup at bay all night and did not allow any long balls, something that is very difficult against this team. Veteran hurler Elroy Bates was roughed up by the Escogidos’ equally powerful lineup, which had three round-trippers in their 12-hit assault.

The winners finished with 13 runs on 12 hits and two errors, while Grey Goose had four runs on five hits and two errors.

Top batters for Escogidos were Jaime Areche (1 for 1 with a homerun and three RBIs), David Samuel (1 for 1 with a homerun and two RBIs), Miguel Rodriguez (2 for 3 with a homerun and two RBIs) and Anuedy Mercedes (2 for 2 with one RBI).

For Grey Goose, Steve Simmonds Jr. was 2 for 3 with one RBI, Roger Moore was 1 for 2 with two RBIs, and Dushane Brown was 1 for 2 with one RBI.
