Opening ceremonies for the 2012 All-Star Tournament between Elmo Plaskett West and Elmo Plaskett East Little Leagues will begin Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Renholdt “Rookie” Jackson Complex in Frederiksted.

The public is invited to the opening ceremonies and to cheer on the best of both leagues in tournament play that determines who represents St. Croix in the regional tournament this summer.

This year for the first time, all-star games are a best three-out-of-five contest, with games being played in both Frederiksted and Christiansted.

The schedule for the tournament follows:

Friday: East vs. West 9-10 Division, 6 p.m., followed by the 11-12 Division at Renholdt Jackson Complex.

Saturday: West vs. East 7-8 Division, 3:30 p.m.; 9-10 Division, 5 p.m., followed by the 11-12 Division at D.C. Canegata ballpark.

Sunday: West vs. East 9-10 Division, 3:30 p.m., followed by the 11-12 Division at D.C. Canegata ballpark.
