Police Investigate Murder of Estate Pearl Man

John Jacob Bierowski, known as "Jake," was found dead Friday night in a house in Estate Pearl in circumstances the V.I. Police Department are calling a homicide.

Bierowski is the a 26-year-old son of St. Croix artist Betsey Campen. It was the 19th homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the 37th in the territory.

Reports and rumors about the death swirled across the island and the Internet Saturday morning, but as of 2 p.m. Saturday no official statement from the police about the cause of death, the time of the incident or the circumstances has been available.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident as a homicide, according to the V.I. Police Department.
