DHPR to Conduct Free Learn to Swim Program at Vincent Mason Sr. Pool

The Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation will conduct its “Learn to Swim Program” at the Vincent Mason Sr. Pool in Frederiksted on Saturdays, from Oct. 13 through Dec. 8.
The program is geared for youth ages 6 to 15, and for adults 16 and over. Swimming classes are from 9-10:30 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and include free introductory lessons to swimming styles and basic water safety skills.
"Recognizing that we live on an island, this initiative is an effort to provide opportunities for our residents, and particularly youth, to learn to swim. With so many residents in our community unable to swim, I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity," Commissioner Williams emphasized.
Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 6, at the Vincent Mason Sr. Pool in Frederiksted. Space is limited.
