Financial Distribution to Public Assistance Recipients Delayed

Persons who receive public assistance are alerted that allotted funds will be available at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, according to a press release from Department of Human Services Commissioner Christopher E. Finch. Due to the passing of Hurricane Earl, technical difficulties between HS and Banco Popular were discovered this morning, Sept. 1, and are in the process of being resolved. Allowances for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) were issued as scheduled.  

The commissioner apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
