Galiber Foundation Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Conference

 

 The Yvonne A. Galiber Foundation Inc. is hosting its Third Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Conference on Saturday, Aug. 25.  It will be held at the Great Hall at the University of the Virgin Islands-St. Croix Campus. Registration, light refreshments and exhibits begin at 8 a.m., and the conference begins at 9 a.m. and goes until noon. Lunch will be served. Health care professionals who attend can earn three continuing education credits.
Presenters will include Dr. Preston Dalglish, oncologist, who will speak on “Minimizing Risk Factors, Treatment of Breast and Ovarian Cancer;” Dr. Lillian Santos, CEO of American Cancer Society of Puerto Rico will speak on “The Role of ACS in Fighting Breast Cancer;” Donna Phillip, certified mastectomy and compress garment fitter speaking on “Beauty and the Breast: How to Look and Feel Beautiful While Surviving Cancer;” and Millicent St. Claire, motivational speaker from Let It Go, Move On speaking on “ Becoming Ambassadors of Fortitude.”
A $5 admission includes lunch and a gift. Limited free passes are available by calling 332-9115.
