AARP VI State Office Holds Territorial Volunteer Leadership Training

The public is advised that the AARP Virgin Islands State Office will be conducting a volunteer leadership summit at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort. The training will be conducted in three distinct parts.
The first part of the summit is open to all AARP members and will involve a special presentation by AARP’s national historian, Lily Liu. She will share an in-depth look at AARP’s mission, vision, goals and history. There is no fee required to attend.
The second portion of this AARP training will introduce volunteers from all three Virgin Islands AARP Chapters to the new one AARP concept. This portion will involve only those members who regularly volunteer their time and talents to projects and events hosted by AARP VI.
The final portion of the training is specifically for AARP chapter members who are either currently holding positions as chapter officers or who aspire to hold an office in the near future. This segment will provide the participant with insight and tips on how AARP expects the various chapter officers to conduct official chapter business.
