VI-EPSCoR and VI-SBDC Reschedule Conference to December 6

 The Virgin Islands Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (VI-EPSCoR) and the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (VI-SBDC) has planned a conference on issues and opportunities for leveraging the economy through science and technology. It will be held from 8 am to 4 pm. on Monday, Dec. 6, at Marriott’s Frenchman’s Reef Beach Resort. (Originally, it had been scheduled for Dec. 2 and 3).

This conference will focus on the linkages between science and technology in the Virgin Islands, and entrepreneurial opportunities within the territory. It will highlight trends, needs and opportunities for science and technology-based business ventures in the V.I. This year’s conference on integrating science and economic development is a key focal area within the VI-EPSCoR program.
It is open both to V.I. and non-V.I. government officials, private sector businesses, green technology researchers and entrepreneurs, science and engineering students, and faculty.
Highly interactive presentations and discussions will be conducted on issues such as:
·         Climate change challenges and opportunities
·         Science and technology innovations for entrepreneurs
·         Turning ideas into marketable goods and services
·                 An investors’/entrepreneurs’ forum for exploration of green technology and other science-based investment opportunities.
