STARS Reunion Presents a 'Vaudeville Smash'

 

 

"The Vaudeville Smash," an end-of-the-summer entertainment extravaganza will be presented beginning Friday at the Country Day School Pavlion.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.

The show, directed by Jan Hart, features young actors in a variety show with scenes and songs from Broadway, Caribbean writers, Shakespeare and more. The theater warns that there is some adult language.

The cast include a host of local performers, including a trio who are home from the summer after studying their art stateside. They include Jai Raphael, a theater major at Pace University; Jovon Jacobs, a theater major at Barry University; and Khadijah Muhammad, a Rutgers University dance major. Also performing are Anna Ruth Bernhardt of Country Day School, Dana Velazquez of St. Croix Educational Complex, Heather Reedy of Kingshill School, Kayra Clouden of Educational Complex, and St. Croix residents Sherri Poree and Lionel C. Downer.

The show is produced by the STAR Reunion Company. Joseph Barnwell is technical director.
