Blues Festival Kick-Off Scheduled for January 24

The Blue Moon Cafe in Frederiksted will host a Blues Festival kick-off party on Tues. Jan.  24 in celebration of the return of the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. Performing for the party will be Chris Klein and the Boulevards along with "Junie" Bomba, Blinky MacIntosh and other local quelbe'/scratch band stalwarts.
The groove promises to be an explosive blend of hard hitting saxophone funk, harmonica blues, tender Brazilian melodies, flute driven Latin mambos and second line drum beats mixed with quelbe' and scratch band rhythms all reflecting the medley of musical influences indigenous to both the Crescent City and St. Croix.
Come out and celebrate with some of the finest music this side of New Orleans. Call 772-2222 for reservations.
