Landmarks Society Announces Candlelight Classical Concert Season

St. Croix Landmarks Society has announced its 2011-2012 Candlelight Classical Concert Season. In its 26th year, the Candlelight Concerts bring classically trained artists to St. Croix to perform at the historical Whim Museum Great House. Launching the series is world renown and native son tenor Gylchris Sprauve, accompanied on piano by Irina Kaufman Brookes on Saturday, Oct. 15. Sprauve and Kaufman Brookes’ program will include works from Spanish composer Frederico Moreno Torroba and French composer Gabriel Faure.
Concerts are held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m.

February 10-11, Dr. Adele Allen and Friends, Piano, Flute and Vocals
March 9-10, Dr. Christopher Atzinger, Piano
April 13th-14- Ridenour and Ross, Piano and Violin
The Candlelight Concert Series is one of SCLS’s major fundraisers that support preservation activities, educational programs and the research library and archives. Tickets are $40 for SCLS members and $45 for non-members. Subscriptions to the series can be purchased for $200 for members and $225 for non- members.
