Board of Education Special Meeting
The Virgin Islands Board of Education (VIBE) will conduct a special board meeting to discuss the Department of Education’s draft of a curriculum framework via Microsoft Teams. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public assembly has been restricted. Therefore, only board members and staff are allowed on the premises. Bajo El Sol Gallery will host a book signing for Tiphanie Yanique. Her latest novel is vibrant and emotionally riveting. “Monster in the Middle” moves across decades, from the continental U.S. to the Virgin Islands to Ghana and back again, to show how one couple’s romance is intrinsically influenced by the family lore and love stories that preceded their own pairing. Originally from the Virgin Islands, Yanique now lives in Atlanta, where she is a professor at Emory University.
