The St. Croix Park Friends will host its August presentation. David Hayes, monitoring archeologist for the VI Water and Power Authority (WAPA), will speak. Two thirds of Christiansted is slated for new water lines. Hayes’ job is to recover historical and cultural resources and protect resources under the streets during this project. He shares his findings. “In my presentation, I will be talking about the artifacts I have found to date and the buildings that we are working near — buildings ranging from cemeteries to culverts and vernacular housing.” Hayes said.
