There is a great and urgent need to remove hurricane-deposited marine debris from mangrove shorelines throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands and to provide information to local communities about marine debris issues and how to help the mangroves. The UVI Marine Advisory Service team along with NPS staff will host the clean-up. It will involve kayaking and walking along the mangrove shoreline to collect and remove debris. The debris will be sorted and properly disposed of by the team. Clean-up activities will occur for an estimated four hours to cover as much area as possible. Come dressed for clean-up activities. Water will be provided; bring a reusable water bottle. Please park at the marina, or if lot is full, park at the Bush Tribe area. Register online at VI-EPSCoR.
