The V.I. Department of Education’s Division of Virgin Islands Cultural Education (DVICE) announces the debut of its Cultural Pop-Up Workshops scheduled for the 2018-19 school year. The first of the series will be a costume building and wire-bending art workshop that will be facilitated by Shamari Haynes of the Simply Sophisticated Fun Troupe and wire-bending artist Waldemar Brodhurst, both natives of St. Croix. The Pop-Ups will take place once a month from October to May and will be facilitated by local masters and culture bearers.
