Rotary Mid-Isle Renovates JFL’s Emergency Department Family Room

On Nov. 3, Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center (JFL) hosted Rotary’s District Governor Haresh L. Ramchandani, along with members from the local Rotary Mid-Isle Club. The Rotary had renovated JFL’s Emergency Department’s family room by donating the furniture, re-painting the room and providing wall art.

National Resources Conservation Service Funding Applications Available

The National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Caribbean Area sign-up for fiscal year 2017 EQIP funding is now open. The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary conservation program that provides financial and technical assistance to farmers and ranchers to help them install and implement conservation practices on eligible agricultural land.

V.I. Society of CPAs to Present Accounting Scholarships to UVI Students

The Virgin Islands Society of Certified Public Accountants (VISCPA) will present two minority accounting scholarships for $2,000 each to University of the Virgin Islands accounting majors at its 2016 annual membership meeting on Friday, Nov. 4.

DRCVI to Conduct Workshops on Employment for the Disabled

The Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands (DRCVI) in collaboration with others will conduct workshops on basic employment including Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) the Ticket to Work Program, the Workforce Innovations and Opportunities Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA).

Friends of V.I. National Park to Host Standup Paddleboard Races Nov. 6

Each year, Friends of V.I. National Park hosts a standup paddleboard race called Paddle the Park at Maho Bay early in November. This year marks the 4th annual event and will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6.

AT&T Contributes $28,000 to CFVI to Promote STEM Education
