With the holidays fast approaching, school about to recess and the Crucian Christmas Festival kicking into high gear, the Boys & Girls Club of St. Croix is offering an Adventure Day, so parents can enjoy the Adults Parade. It is also offering a Three Kings Kids Camp. Registration is open to the public.
Boys & Girls Club Offers Holiday Activities for the Kids:
The Frederiksted Club will host the Crucian Christmas Adventure Day for Kids on Saturday, Jan. 2, which is Adults Parade Day. While parents enjoy the day-long parade, kids, ages 6-13, can participate in a fun-filled day of activities from 9 a.m.-6 pm. All kids should bring a bag lunch. A discounted price of $40 for the day or $8 per hour is available during pre-registration, which runs through Dec. 30. If registering the day of the event, a $50 fee or $10 per hour charge will be assessed. If registering multiple children from the same immediate family, the first two children pay full price and each additional child is half price. High school students needing community service hours can volunteer to assist with the day’s activities.
The Three Kings Camp, for kids 6-13 years of age, will run from Jan. 4-8, at both the Christiansted and Frederiksted locations. Camp hours are 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. On campus, kids can participate in art classes, learn basket weaving and tie dyeing, and much more. Kids will also enjoy off-campus activities such as hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding, archery and in-line skating. Pre-register through Dec. 30 and pay $100. The price is $125 after this date. A $25 discount will be applied when registering a second child; there is a charge of $50 when registering a third child of the same immediate family. Each child should bring a bag lunch daily. High school students can receive community service hours for assisting with the camp.
“We wanted to offer constructive and creative options to parents during the holidays when school is out,” said Julie Landraneau, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Virgin Islands. “Parents can feel relieved in knowing their kids are in a safe environment and engaging in thought-provoking and experiential programs.”
