St. Croix Rescue and Rotary Club to Hold Health Fair

Jan. 19, 2008 – St. Croix Rescue and Rotary Club of St. Croix will hold the Third Annual Rotary-Rescue Health Fair and Open House from 7 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the St. Croix Rescue Training Academy at Five Corners.
There will be a wide range of free health screenings, tests, consultations and information. All testing is confidential. Participants in the fair include; VI CARE, the Department of Health, the Department of Highway Safety, Dr. Diana Brinker, Dr. Colon, Dr. Ian Cook, The Village Partners in Recovery and many more. Testing, screenings and consultations include; glucose, cholesterol, foot care, hearing, vision, substance abuse, blood pressure, HIV/AIDS and more.
There will also be seminars on various topics, including a session on holistic medicine by Dr. Kirana Kefalos beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m., and the Rotary Club will be conducting a blood drive, according to a press release from the St. Croix Rescue Squad.
Schedule of Presenters:
8:30-9:30 a.m.–Dr Kerana Kefalos; Holistic Healing
9:30-10:30 a.m.–Denyce Singleton; AARP
10:30-11:30 a.m.–Dr. Alecia Lewitt; Chiropractic Care
11:30-12:30 p.m.–Dr. Dianne Brinker; Stress Management
Members of St. Croix Rescue will give tours of their training academy and conduct a number of demonstrations of their services during the day, including a high angle rescue from the tower at the academy and a vehicle extrication demonstration on how to rescue accident victims from wrecked vehicles.
10 a.m.–Extrication Demo STX Rescue
11 a.m.–High Angle Rescue
