Sept. 12, 2003 – In recognition of Labor Awareness Month the V.I. Labor Department will be conducting open house activities on both St. Thomas and St. Croix during September.
The open house will not only provide an opportunity for Virgin Islanders to voice concerns and have questions answered by representatives from the department's many divisions, but it will also provide a venue for free health screening for high blood pressure, glaucoma and diabetes, as well as free dental and breast examinations. Food and refreshments will also be available.
On St. Thomas the open house is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Labor Department's offices in lower Kronprindsens Gade; on St. Croix the open house will run during the same hours on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Department's Sunny Isle Shopping Center offices.
For further information please contact the commissioner's offices on St. Thomas at 776-3700, ext. 2111, and on St. Croix at 773-1994, ext. 230.
