Lionel Christopher Dies at 93

Lionel Christopher, also known as “Tucka” or “Chris,” was born on Aug. 30, 1933, on the island of St. Vincent, and peacefully departed this life on March 5, 2026, in Philadelphia at the age of 92.

He lived a long and meaningful life and will be remembered as a kind, humble, and devoted man whose warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

Mr. Christopher was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rosa and Obadiah Christopher; his loving wife, Venetta Christopher; and his cherished daughter, Emeryl Christopher.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted son, Rosbert Christopher, and his loving daughters, Herlen Christopher, Cybren Christopher, and Amry Christopher. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Rosbert Jr., Ronnell, Orese, and Shereen. In addition, he leaves behind his two dear sisters, Althea Thomas and Priscilla Shallow.


Mr. Christopher was deeply loved and respected by many friends, neighbors, and extended family members. Known for his warm smile, quiet strength, and caring heart, he made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence, wisdom, and kindness will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Funeral services will be held on March 27, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in St. Croix. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will take place immediately afterward at Kingshill Cemetery.
