Minor Drowned at Buck Island

On Saturday, St. Thomas Rescue and V.I. Fire Emergency Medical Service responded to a report of a drowning at Buck Island, said FEMS officials. 

Upon investigation, rescue officers discovered that an individual, a minor,  participating in a diving excursion went into distress underwater, and became unresponsive, according to FEMS report. 

Officers at the scene took lifesaving measures that resulted in the minor being transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Medical Center and placed in critical condition, officials of FEMS said.
