Sibling Assault Leads to Broken Bones

On Tuesday a 61- year-old male, was placed under arrest after he struck his sister several times with the side of a cutlass blade. The victim sustained three broken bones in her hand and abrasions on her right thigh said police. 

The victim stated that she was struck by Ivan Evans  Evans for no apparent reason, and she called 911 to report the assault, Police went to make contact with Evans, however, he locked himself inside of his house, according to press release. 

Evans turned himself in to police after admitting assaulting his sister with the cutlass. He was charged with assault in the third degree (DV) and disturbance of the peace (DV), with no bail. Evans was turned over to corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, according to police. 

This case is presently under investigation by the Domestic Violence Bureau/CIB. Anyone  having information about this crime can notify the Domestic Violence Bureau at (340)774- 2211, ext. 5535.
