Project: Melvin Evans Highway Reconstruction and Rehabilitation, St. Croix
Location: Good Hope Intersection to William’s Delight Intersection
Contract Amount: $12,268,386 (GARVEE Funds)
Summary: The Department of Public Works informs the community of progress on the final phase of the Melvin Evans Highway project. DPW contractor (V.I. Paving, Inc.) is laying permanent asphalt along the new roadway. To date, the contractor has completed 35% of the work. Both the westbound and eastbound left lanes are now closed to traffic.
Motorists are asked to proceed with caution. The scope of work for this project includes milling, road reconstruction/paving and striping.
