St. Croix Dolphins Swimmers Compete at 2023 Phoenix Winter Invitational

The St. Croix Dolphins Swim Team traveled to Phoenix, Ariz., to compete in the 2023 Phoenix Winter Invitational, which took place from Friday, Feb. 17 through Monday, Feb. 20.  Sixteen Dolphin swimmers competed in the event.

These swimmers are Evan Dykstra (17), Gaby Evora (16), Morgan Garner (15), Kaeden Gleason (15), Lu Joseph (15), Scott Roth (15), Madelyn Donnelly (14), Nick Crikelair (14), Riley Miller (14), Daryan Maynard (14), Kalonji Von Schilling-Royer (14), Sawyer Holley (14), Kameryn Padgett (13), Teague Gleason (13), Diella Maynard (12) and Sanay Von Schilling-Royer (10).

Each swimmer competed in between 1-3 events per day.  Nine swimmers qualified for at least 1 final (Diella Maynard, Sawyer Holley, Kalonji Von Schilling-Royer, Daryan Maynard, Riley Miller, Madelyn Donnelly, Nick Crikelair, Kaeden Gleason and Gaby Evora).  Dolphin swimmers qualified for 41 total final events.

A total of three medals were earned (top three in an event) by Daryan Maynard in the 13-14 boys 200-yard IM – 2nd place and in the 13-14 boys 200-yard butterfly – 1st place; and Riley Miller in the 13-14 girls 200-yard backstroke – 3rd place.  The team finished in 10th place overall.
