McDonald’s is lending the power of their most iconic sandwich to create opportunities for young Virgin Islanders. For the 10th year, USVI McDonald’s will donate funds from every Big Mac® sold on Thursday, Dec. 8, to a local charity that serves youth and families. Again, this year, funds raised will go to support educational programs at My Brother’s Workshop on St. Thomas and St. Croix.
The McDonald’s ‘Great Day’ annual fundraiser is part of its commitment to give back to the communities it serves.
“Arcos Dorados has been a proud supporter of My Brother’s Workshop for 10 years. We are happy to contribute to their goal of expanding their campus to better serve the community for generations to come,” said Marisol Vega Couto, managing director at Arcos Dorados Puerto Rico and USVI. “Our teams are looking forward to celebrating ‘Great Day’ and encourage everyone to enjoy a Big Mac at their favorite McDonald’s restaurant.”
“My Brother’s Workshop is thankful to McDonald’s for their continued support,” said Jenny Hawkes, executive director of My Brother’s Workshop. “The generosity and support of local businesses like McDonald’s make our program a success. Not only through financial support but with job opportunities for our trainees once they have completed the program.”
My Brother’s Workshop is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope, faith, healing and opportunity to at-risk and high-risk youth in the U.S. Virgin Islands, ages 16-24. Their holistic approach of mentorship, education, mental health counseling, on-the-job training and job placement has helped over 1,300 young people choose a better path, further their education, and ultimately change their lives.
You can make this a ‘Great Day’ for My Brother’s Workshop by visiting any McDonald’s USVI restaurant on Dec. 8 and purchasing a Big Mac®. Follow McDonald’s USVI on Facebook for updates and reminders on ‘Great Day 2022.
