Maude Omaha Dowdy Roberts, also known as “Maudie,” of Prince Street, Frederiksted, transitioned died on Sept. 3. She was 100 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthon Roberts; mother, Evelyn McIntosh Andrews; father, Joseph Dowdy; sons: Alfred “Meredith” Hansen and Kenneth Ricardo Christian.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Janice Hansen-Murray, Judy Ann Hansen, Julien Hansen, Alfred Hansen Jr. and Patricia James; great-grandchildren: Edwin Hendrickson Jr., Shaniece Hopkins, Camari Mahoney, Shamara Nurse, Shena Nurse, Nyarah McMillan, Oluwale Flores, Kai Barnes, Kenneth Christian Jr. and Destiny James; sister: Veloris Andrews Abraham; and other relatives and friends too numerus to mention.
The viewing will take place at 10 am. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
The family respectfully requests that those in attendance wear shades of blue.
