Two-Vehicle Auto Accident Leads to One Fatality

A St. Coix man was killed in an auto accident Saturday, according to VIPD.

A concerned citizen contacted the 911 Emergency Call Center just after midnight on Saturday, reporting a two-vehicle auto accident, requesting an ambulance because a passenger was trapped in a vehicle.

VIPD, Rescue, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the scene. VIPD’s investigation revealed that a Honda Civic was traveling south to north on Northside Road RT 75 in the vicinity of Jean Romney Drive, Kingshill area when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the northbound lane and collided with a Toyota Tundra that was heading from north to south.

Hakeem O. Alfred, 31, the driver of the Toyota Tundra, was transported to the Juan Luis Hospital by ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries sustained by the crash. The VIPD traffic Investigations Bureau (TIB) is investigating this auto collision.
