Updated: VIPD Looking For Person of Interest

The V.I. Police Department is looking for Geraldo Ojeda, who they said is a person of interest in this case. Ojeda is 22, Venezuelan, has dark brown hair, brown eyes, a medium-size build, and is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, police said.

July 2, 6:06 p.m.

Police are searching for two suspects involved in an alleged attempted murder that occurred on Saturday night in the Castle Coakley area on St. Croix.

According to the 911 Emergency Call Center, the VIPD was notified about a gunshot victim who had been brought to the Juan F. Luis Hospital in a white 325i BMW.

Two individuals allegedly assaulted the victim; one shot the victim, and the other suspect ran him over with his car when the victim hit the ground. Both suspects fled the area.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to both upper arms and chin, a puncture on his chest, and lacerations on his face and hands, the VIPD reported. The victim remains in stable but guarded condition, the department said.
