Updated: Missing Person Stedroy T. Meade Found Dead

May 1, 9:25 p.m.

After an extensive search led by the VIPD CIB, the body of 73-year-old Stedroy T. Meade was found. At 2:55 p.m., 911 received a call that a body had been found in a vehicle in Clifton Hill. Officers were deployed to the area and learned that the owner of a different vehicle sent her minor child to the vehicle, and the child discovered a body. The body was identified next of kin as Stedroy T. Meade.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle’s inner door handles were inoperable and could only be opened from the exterior of the vehicle. The investigation continues pending an autopsy by the medical examiner’s office. The CIB Chief Detective, Lt. Naomi Joseph, thanks the community and the family for their support and all who assisted in the search. 

April 29, 2:07 p.m.:

The Virgin Islands Police Department asks for assistance in locating Stedroy T. Meade, a 73-year-old Black male residing in Clifton Hill, St. Croix. Meade has gray hair and brown eyes. He is 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighs 180 pounds.

Meade was last seen on April 28 at his home in Clifton Hill around 3:30-4 p.m., wearing a dark-colored shirt, blue pants, blue Crocs, and a red hat.
