The victim alleged Gardener also threatened to kill her because she told him she was ending the relationship. She also reportedly alleged Gardener grabbed her by the neck, lifted her up, and began strangling her until she was unable to breathe. She said Gardener then body slammed her on the bed and left, according to police.

Gardener was arrested at Ancilmo Marshall Command. He was taken to the office of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, where he was read his rights and declined to give a statement.

He was booked and transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility in Golden Grove pending his Advice of Right Hearing on Friday, April 1.
