Ruth Naomi Johannes

Ruth Naomi Johannes of Estate Strawberry died on Sept. 19.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Isabelle and Caleb Williams; husband, Arnold Johannes; and siblings: James, St. Clair, Eli and Cordelia.

She is survived by her children: Sharon Florent (son-in-law Cuthbert Florent) and Jermaine “Blacka” Johannes (significant other Kenisha Henderson); stepchildren: Eleanor, Anthony and Troy Johannes; grandchildren: Kaleb and Joshua Florent, Jahzarah and Taccari Johannes, U-Neisha James, K’Saiah Smith, K’Myiah Chaparro and K’Shailah Smith;

She is also survived by sisters: Gloria Liburd and Eula Simmon; brothers: Eslie Williams and Hastings Williams; and brother-in-law: Lorenzo Simmon.

She is also survived by nieces: Jule Canton, Vanessa Williams, Kimberly and Mya Fludd, Carolyn James, Adrienne Williams-Octalien, Annette and Monique Thomas, Darlene and Desiree Innis, Ordette Weekes, Diara Canton, Kamille Richards, Ashley Williams, Rita Johannes, Patricia Francis, Arleen Johannes, Renita Johannes, Lynette Johannes and Raquel Parris-Francis.

More survivors are nephews: Lyndon Simmon, Leighton Innis, Gregory Sr. and Kevin Sr. Williams, Kayin and Kasim Williams, Lincoln and Lester Liburd, Jason Williams, Gary Walters, Anthony Williams, Mark, Kayden and Mj Fludd, Douglas and Damari Canton, and Rodney and Ricky Parris.

Other survivors include special friends: Ionie Noel, Deloris and Shelly Gumbs, Margarette Bramble, Mr. and Mrs. George Stokes, Author Connor, Maggie Leader, Mr. James, Cecilia Hendrickson, Audrey Leona Johnson, Albertine Maynard, Sonia, Janette Caines, Angela Adams, Pastor Eric Francis and the Beeston Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church members; cousins and other relatives: Arnaldo Chiverton and family, Georginana Richards and family, Myrna and Leonora Walwyn and their families, Tony Walters, and family, Urna Greene and family, and Julia Poleon and family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. 

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Beeston Hill Wesleyan Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
