At 5 p.m. Tuesday detectives from the V.I. Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit arrested Akeem A. Forbes, age 32 of Jode Gade, charging him with second-degree assault, domestic violence.
According to police, between Sunday and Monday Forbes held the female victm in his residence, preventing her from leaving. While there, he allegedly struck her several times about the face and choked her, according to her report.
Forbes was jailed without bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence laws, pending his advice of rights hearing.
