Woman Dies in Auto Accident on Northside Road

Amaris Chew, a 34-year-old resident of Estate Calquohoun on St. Croix, was identified by the V.I. Police Department as the victim in a one-car accident that took place around 12:54 a.m. Friday on Northside Road in the vicinity of the Francis Water Company.

The investigation into the accident revealed the Chew was driver of a burgundy 2015 Acura ILX that was traveling north at a high rate of speed, not wearing a seatbelt. Police said she lost control of the vehicle and collided into a tree on the northern shoulder of the road.

Chew died at the scene.

Police said the case remains open and under investigation by the VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau.
