STJ Woman Charged with Domestic False Imprisonment

Police on Monday arrested 63-year-old Carmen H. Martie of Estate Pastory and charged her with false imprisonment/domestic violence.

The victim, whose name was not released by police in accordance with department policy, told officers that Martie threatened him with a hammer during a disagreement. Allegedly, Martie blocked the doorway, not allowing the victim to leave the location.

Martie was arrested as a result.

Martie was not offered bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence statutes. She was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
