One Man Killed, Two Injured by Gunfire on St. John

One man was killed and two others treated for gunshot injuries after shots were fired on Wednesday in Estate Enighed on St. John, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified by next of kin as 20-year-old A’Jahnie Bramble. According to the Source homicide list*, it was the second homicide on St. John since the beginning of the year, and the first in more than eight months. It was the 43rd homicide in the territory since the beginning of the year.

According to police, at about 12:05 a.m. Nov. 18, the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots fired in Estate Enighed. Officers traveled to the scene and found an unresponsive male who appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Emergency medical technicians on the scene concluded that the male did not have any vital signs. The victim was later identified as Bramble.

Officers then learned that two other individuals received gunshot wounds in the incident and were being treated at the Myrah Keating Clinic.

St. John Deputy Chief of Police Vivianne Newton denounced this incident and urged the responsible parties to turn themselves in.

“Someone out there knows what happened. Please contact us and let us know so we can arrest who did this,” Newton stated.

She asked anyone with information about this incident to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5569 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).

*The Source homicide list is based on police reports, but unlike the police list and the lists of some other media, the Source list does not include vehicular homicides or suicides, so the number of reported incidents can vary.
