Woman Injured in Charlotte Amalie Shooting

An adult female was treated Wednesday for a gunshot wound she received in a shooting in Charlotte Amalie.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at around 3:56 p.m. Sept. 23, the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to Kronprindsens Gade in downtown Charlotte Amalie to a report of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult female with a gunshot wound. The victim, whose name was not released by police in accordance with department policy, was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The police urged anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the crime to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
