Police Arrest Suspect in STX Shooting

The V.I. Police Department on Thursday arrested Rahkeem S. Swanston, age 20 of Estate Whim, and charged him in a shooting that injured a woman.

According to police, Swanston was identified as one of the shooters in an incident which resulted in a woman being shot at the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion housing community.

The arrest took place at about 10:15 a.m. July 2, at approximately 10:15 a.m. Swanston is charged with third-degree assault, reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm openly or concealed, aiming and discharging a firearm, and possession of ammunition.

Bail was set at $75,000. He was unable to post bail and was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
