Man Injured by Gunshot in Bovoni Housing

A man received a gunshot wound in his left leg Saturday evening on St Thomas but declined to be taken to the hospital for treatment, the V.I Police Department reported.

According to police, at 7:06 p.m. on June 27, the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots being fired in the Bovoni Housing Community. Officers at the scene found a Black male with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim’s name was not released in accordance with department policy. Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and provided medical attention to the victim.

The victim refused to travel to the Schneider Regional Medical Center to receive further medical assistance.

Police urged anyone with any information regarding this crime to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 extension 5557, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
