Ocwen Financial Corporation donated gift certificates worth $7,700 to benefit low-income families in the Early Head Start program and front line workers at Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands (LSSVI). The generous gesture highlights the selfless dedication and heroic work of LSSVI staff, who care for hundreds of individuals across its programs.

Front line workers on St. Croix and each of the families in LSSVI’s Early Head Start program will receive a gift certificate to help defray the impact of COVID-19 on their families, which have all been affected by unexpected expenses caused by the global pandemic.

Ocwen Financial Corporation has been a great supporter of LSSVI programs over the past six years, and it has adopted the children and staff at Queen Louise Home for Children in particular. It has completed several service projects at Queen Louise Home through its volunteer program called Ocwen in the Community.

On its most recent visit, 24 volunteers, many of whom travelled from all across the U.S. mainland, spent an entire day painting and beautifying the cottages at Queen Louise Home. They replaced aging appliances and furniture, made all the children’s beds with new sheets, spruced up the auditorium and created an inventory of the programs in-kind donations.

Junia John-Straker, CEO of LSSVI, expressed her gratitude to the entire Ocwen staff for their “continued commitment towards the community and especially the children and vulnerable families our program serves.”

Ocwen Financial Corporation is one of the leading mortgage servicing companies in America.  The company is guided by their mission of “providing caring service and innovative lending solutions.”

Queen Louise Home for Children is a 24-hour residential foster care for children in the Virgin Islands. Part of its mission includes Sister Emma Cottage, which provides 24-hour residential foster care for children who have severe disabilities and special medical needs.
