Frederiksted Fast Food Restaurant Held Up

A Frederiksted fast-food-restaurant was robbed by two armed men Thursday evening, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at about 8:47 p.m. Thursday, the 911 emergency call center notified officers that a robbery was in progress at the KFC Restaurant in downtown Frederiksted. Officers at the scene were told by witnesses that two black males dressed in all black and armed with handguns entered the establishment and removed cash out of the register. The men then fled on foot in an unknown direction. Officers received a tip from a concerned citizen that the two suspects ran towards Fort Frederik and entered a black vehicle.

One suspect was described as having a dark complexion, slim built, muscular definition, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a black shirt to cover his face and wearing a black long-sleeved shirt. The other suspect is described as slim built, wearing a shirt over his face, wearing a long-sleeved two-toned sweater.

This incident is under investigation. Police urged anyone with information that can help detectives in solving the crime to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
