In light of the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Virgin Islands Department of Sports, Parks, and Recreation (DSPR) has taken the following preventative measures in alignment with the Department of Health’s recommendations to help protect and continue to serve the community:

  • Augmented facility hours territory-wide are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until further notice.
  • Effective immediately, all DSPR sport and recreation programs have been suspended until further notice. This includes any sporting activity or event coordinated by DSPR or held at a DSPR facility.
  • All after-school programs (DSPR run or after-school partnerships) are suspended for three weeks beginning on Wednesday, March 18.
  • Sports, Parks and Recreation has suspended the rental of its facilities to minimize exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Applications will not be accepted until it resumes regular business practices, according to Commissioner Calvert White. Facilities that have been rented within the next 60 days, should call the main office to reschedule: 773-0160 on St. Croix or 774- 0255 on St. Thomas.
