Man Charged with First-Degree Rape

The V.I. Police Department on Monday arrested Marciano Rivera of St. Thomas and charged him with first-degree rape.

According to VIPD, Rivera was positively identified as the person who raped the victim on multiple occasions. The victim’s name was not released by police, in accordance with department policy.

Bail for Rivera was set at $100,000 by the order of the court, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
