More Income Tax Refunds On the Way

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. has authorized the Bureau of Internal Revenue to pay out an additional $11 million in income tax refunds to tax filers in the territory this week.

The latest disbursement comprises about 4,345 refunds and includes some, but not all, returns filed in tax year 2017, according to Government House.

This is the latest in a series of separate authorizations for tax refunds. For years, the V.I. government has periodically delayed tax refunds due to cash shortages, but has been catching up with the backlog since the previous administration.
