Watch: Plaskett Questions FEMA About Recovery

Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett on Tuesday took part in an Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management subcommittee hearing titled, “An Assessment of Federal Recovery Efforts from Recent Disasters.”

Plaskett was able to sit on the panel to question FEMA about ongoing recovery efforts in the Virgin Islands, pressing officials on recovery efforts following hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.

Two years after the twin storms pounded the islands, recovery efforts are ongoing with no end in sight. Plaskett questioned FEMA officials directly, arguing that the territory must take lessons learned and improve disaster recovery.
