VIPD Discovers Body of Man in Bovoni Area

Police officers in the Bovoni area are investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday after the discovery of an unidentified man’s body.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at about 1:05 p.m. Sunday, officers of the VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau were conducting a follow up investigation when they discovered an unresponsive body of a man who appeared to have sustained injury to his upper body.

Emergency medical technicians on the scene confirmed that the man displayed no vital signs and declared him deceased. The cause of death is currently unknown pending the results of an official autopsy, and the man’s identity is being withheld until notification of next of kin.

This case remains active and is presently under investigation by the Major Crime Unit of the VIPD.
