Six people were injured, one seriously, when shooting broke out Sunday night at an event called Floattopia near the Fort Frederik Beach in Frederiksted.
According to the V.I. Police Department, at 9:27 p.m. Sunday, 911 received numerous calls of shots fired at the beach event.
Officers have identified six victims who sustained gunshot wounds. All identified victims were transported in the Juan Luis Hospital in private vehicles for treatment.
Five of the six sustained non- life-threatening injuries. One of the victims, who sustained a gunshot wound to shoulder, was to be airlifted to mainland for further medical treatment, the VIPD said in a Monday morning news release.
This incident is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
