STT Woman Charged with Assault/Domestic Violence

The V.I. Police Domestic Violence Unit on Friday arrested 45-year-old Sherrolyn Warner of Frydenhoj and charged her with assaulting a teenager, the police reported Sunday.

According to the VIPD, at 3 p.m. Thursday the Domestic Violence Unit was requested to travel to the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School about a female minor who said she had been assaulted by an adult female acquaintance.

Investigations revealed that the female minor had noticeable bruises about her arms and legs. Further Investigation revealed that these injuries were sustained from being beaten with a belt and the flat side of a machete.

The minor female was taken into protective custody by a social worker from Human Services.

At about 1:35 p.m., Warner was present at the Criminal Investigation Bureau, was placed under arrest, and charged with third-degree assault/domestic violence. She was booked, processed, and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing. No bail was set in pursuance of the domestic violence law.
